Indian Knoll ES students are collecting new toys and gifts for the MUST Ministries’ Toy Shop.
Today’s #CCSDGives project is from Indian Knoll Elementary School! CCSD students learn the value of service year-round through charitable projects and volunteering. During the holiday season, our schools stay especially busy with these projects. To increase our students’ positive impact in the community, we will regularly share details of these projects with you through CCSDGives posts including how you can help.
WHAT: Indian Knoll Elementary School Believes in Helping Others
WHO: Schoolwide
WHY: Students and families are donating new toys and gifts for the MUST Ministries’ Toy Shop, which serves 4,000 Cherokee and Cobb children in need. “This is a very special community outreach project that will allow our children and parents to help those that are less fortunate in our community,” said counselors Colleen DeLosh and Lori Head, who organize the program. “By reaching out to others, our students will learn important character traits such as kindness, generosity, compassion and service by participating in this event.”
HOW CAN YOU HELP? Donations of new toys and gifts can be dropped off at the school front office during school hours (7:35 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.) through Dec. 19. Toys and gifts needed include: dolls, sports equipment, radios, cameras, puzzles, action figures, books, games, movies on DVD, toy trucks/cars, bikes and bike helmets, video games, sports balls, dress-up items, electronics and stuffed animals. School supplies also are welcome. For more information, please email [email protected]
