DUNWOODY, Ga. — Police arrested a Dunwoody man Dec. 22 for obstruction after he refused to provide his name and birthday.
A Dunwoody officer said he was dispatched to Jefferson at the Perimeter Apartments on Ashford Dunwoody Road and met with a leasing manager.
The manager said she wanted a man criminally trespassed from the leasing office.
The officer’s narrative did not include the reason for the manager’s request.
As the officer was speaking with the manager, the man re-entered the office.
The officer said he notified the man that he was being criminally trespassed and asked for his name and birthdate.
The man said he did not have his identification and he would not provide the information.
The officer said he explained to the man “that it was nonsense for him to get arrested for not providing his name and date of birth.”
After speaking with his lawyer on the phone, the man still refused to provide the information.
Eventually, two officers placed the man in handcuffs.
The officer said the man was criminally trespassed from the leasing office and transported to DeKalb County Jail on an obstruction charge.
