Immersive play ‘Class Dismissed’ redefines theater as part of ‘Shows in Homes’ series – WABE

Twenty-first-century theater is all about pushing the boundaries that define a “stage.” Theater can be immersive; it can be out on a public street, and with the “Shows in Homes” performance series from Out of Hand Theater, it can even be in your own home. “Shows in Homes” presents a new work by Atlanta playwright Paris Crayton III, “Class Dismissed,” with performances all over the city.

The one-act play follows a teacher under fire for reading a politically sensitive book to their class, and a discussion with each audience follows the performances.
