State Representative J Collins (R-Villa Rica), chairman of the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee, was recently named Legislator of the Year by the Georgia State Firefighters Association and Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs.
“It’s an honor to be named Legislator of the Year by the Georgia Fire Service,” said Rep. Collins. “As chairman of the Public Safety and Homeland Security committee, I recognize and commend these incredible men and women who sacrifice so much to serve and protect our communities. My colleagues and I will continue to advocate for our Georgia fire safety professionals, and I am greatly appreciative for their support of our work in the General Assembly.”
The Georgia State Firefighters Association and the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs select Legislators of the Year each year who consistently demonstrate unwavering support for Georgia’s Fire Service.
Representative J Collins represents the citizens of District 71, which includes portions of Carroll County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 and currently serves as Chairman of the Public Safety & Homeland Security Committee and Secretary of the Juvenile Justice Committee.
