WABE celebrates 75 years – The Atlanta 100

by Fulton Watch News Feed

Did you know that the first WABE broadcast occurred Sept. 13, 1948? You read that right. WABE first began running instructional programming for students in Atlanta and Fulton County schools in ‘48, according to WABE.org, which if you do the math means the outlet is celebrating a major milestone this year.

Mark your calendar as WABE hosts a series of community programming to honor its 75th year in public media:

May 6 – Soil Fest at Maddox Park
June 25 – WABE Community Block Party
July 31 – WABE Braves Night
August (TBD) – WABE at the United Night
Sept. 17 – 2024 Preview

– Abby Watkins, 360 Media, Inc.
