Bo Lawson Baker, age 8, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Carroll County, Georgia on July 1, 2015 to Kevin Ray Baker and Dana Engel Baker.
Bo was born with a rare degenerative autoimmune disease called AGS, Aicardi Goutieres Syndrome. He was a 2nd grade student at Central Elementary School and recipient of the Super Lion Award. Bo, an avid Dawgs Fan, enjoyed watching University of Georgia Football with his dad, long snuggles with his mama, going to school and riding the bus, attending his sister’s events and performances, rides on his custom “Make-A-Wish” Foundation golf cart, anything with lights and sounds, watching movies with his nurse Grady Cheely, being surrounded by other children, his cousins, and his family, and he especially loved his sisters. Bo enjoyed going to the beach and being held in the ocean and pool. His laughs, squeals and big smiles were a joy to everyone. Several “Birdies for Bo” golf tournaments were held in his honor to raise support for his numerous medical trials in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, PA. In 2017, Bo and his family were chosen for the AGC of Georgia Young Leadership Program renovation where they transformed the Baker’s home making it handicapped accessible for Bo’s growing needs. Bo and his family attended Carrollton Church of Christ. Bo’s disease never held him back from being loved and providing love and inspiration to so many.
