According to the Buchanan Police Department, the case began on Feb. 9, 2024, when authorities were notified of suspicious financial activity at Countryside Health Center. Hannah was a business manager at the facility and there had been charges on a victim’s card for personal bills totaling $880. Hannah was initially arrested on Feb. 12, 2024 when she repoertedly confessed to the crime.

On Feb. 19, she was arrested once again when 39 more victims — some deceased — were discovered after Police Chief David Ratner met with an auditor regarding check deposits Hannah made that totaled $53,000.

According Ratner, investigators discovered that Hannah had created fake invoices and deposited the funds into her Navy Federal Credit Union account. Seventy-eight warrants for deposit account fraud and exploitation of elderly or disabled persons were then issued.

Following a search of her Navy Federal Credit Union, eight additional warrants were issued by the Buchanan Police Department on March 15, four for account fraud and four elder exploitation.

Authorities allege Hannah stole three pension checks from the latest victim, a 78-year-old male, totaling nearly $13,000. The victim was living off his monthly pension of $625 from Steelworkers Pension Fund. Hannah allegedly took the victim to the bank to close his account out for an amount of $10,182, money that was intended to go to the Countryside Health Center for funeral and final expenses.
