Mary E. Murphy, 92, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024. She was born May 16, 1931 in Buchanan, Georgia. A devoted military wife, Ms. Mary and her family lived abroad during her husband’s deployments and assignments during his tenure with the Air Force. After returning to the states, she worked with Sears Roebuck, having retired as a clerk and a branch manager. After retirement, she and her husband were actively involved in the Douglas County Senior Citizen Club, among other social organizations in Douglasville. Ms. Mary enjoyed helping deliver meals to housebound people for the Douglas County Senior Services. She found great joy in spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband of 73 years, Roslyn Warren “Pete” Murphy; and her parents, Pierce and Irene (Henson) Parrott.
