Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Windom Wilkins age 92, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Monday, Feb. 12, 2024.
Mrs. Wilkins was born on Nov. 22,1931 in Mt. Zion, Georgia the daughter of the late William Clarence Windom and Katrina Wood Windom. She grew up on a farm and was a 1948 graduate of Mt. Zion High School. Following high school, she attended business classes in Carrollton where she often had to catch a ride into town. She was a true public servant and loved her career where she was the Chief Deputy Clerk for Carroll County Superior Courts for 58 years. She served under three different Clerks of Court and served as an interim Clerk at one point. One of her greatest passions was Art and watercolor painting. She was a part of the original “Off the Square” art show in Carrollton and studied under Tom Powers and later Ralph Van Pelt. She enjoyed the art class at Tabernacle Baptist Church for many of the last several years where she was also a church member. She was an avid reader of all types of fiction and non-fiction, completing many books per month.
