A trio of Rising Starr Middle 6th graders won in the annual Towaliga Conservation District poster contest.
Aaradhya Kamath won 1st place and will advance to the state contest. Sofia Caldwell finished 2nd, and Grayson Detorie placed 3rd.
The three Panthers won a total of $225.
The goal of the contest is teaching kids the importance of stewarding natural resources while engaging their creativity. This year’s theme was “One Water: Interconnectedness through our watersheds.”
The contest is open to public, private, and home-schooled students in 6th-8th grades in Butts, Fayette, Monroe, Pike, Spalding, and Upson Counties.
