Carrollton High School Assistant Principal Courtney Walker has been named one of only three finalists in the nation eligible for the 2024 National Association of Secondary School Principals Assistant Principal of the Year award.
The NASSP National Assistant Principal of the Year program honors outstanding middle and high school assistant principals. Each year, one assistant principal is chosen from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Overseas Schools, and the Department of Defense Education Activity. These finalists are selected from a pool of nominees representing their state or department. The program recognizes assistant principals who excel at creating high-quality learning experiences for students and have made significant contributions to the field of education.
CHS Principal Ian Lyle nominated Walker, who has been a leader at Carrollton City Schools since 2019.
“Mrs. Walker is a very passionate and dedicated leader who works tirelessly all year to ensure the success of Carrollton High School,” said Lyle. “She truly cares about the success and well-being of our staff and students. I am very proud that the NASSP has recognized the impact of her educational leadership and am excited to see what she will accomplish next.”
