Woman charged in mall parking lot shooting | Douglasville Sentinel

Holland allegedly shot 32-year-old Demetrius Forts multiple times around 12:09 p.m. Sunday in the mall’s parking lot. She then fled the scene.

Police believed the two were involved in a relationship. No motive was given for the shooting.

According to Atlanta News First, Holland left the all area in a white Mercedes-Benz.

“This incident was not a random act of violence,” stated a DPD Facebook post.

Forts was transported to the hospital where he remained late Monday afternoon, according to a DPD news release.

Holland is being charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

In another post on Facebook, DPD stated that there would be a ‘large law enforcement presence’ at an upcoming carnival at the mall.

The carnival is scheduled to run March 14-24 in the parking lot facing Douglas Boulavard.

“In addition to as many as six officers working at the carnival, our Crime Reduction Unit and plain clothes detectives will be in the area conducting concentrated patrols,” the Facebook post stated.

The post also stated that ‘carnivals are not babysitters’.

“Parents are responsible for making sure their children make good decisions and knowing where they are at all times,” the Facebook post said.
