College Football Playoff field is set — Alabama slips in ahead of Florida State | News, Sports, Jobs

The top four teams in the College Football Playoff field are set after today’s noon announcement on ESPN.

In order, they are: Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama.

The semifinal sites are the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl.

Michigan will play Alabama in the Rose Bowl, while Washington and Texas will meet in the Sugar Bowl.

Alabama, which won the SEC on Saturday night by beating No. 1 Georgia, slipped in ahead of ACC champion Florida State, which finished No. 5 followed by Georgia at No. 6.

The remainder of the New Year’s Six bowl games — including where Penn State lands — will be announced today at 2:30 p.m.
