The women’s college soccer season comes to an exciting end this weekend in Cary, North Carolina as four teams battle for the right to be crowned National Champion.

No. 1 Florida State has rolled to its fourth straight appearance in the final round and will face off against conference foe, and College Cup first-time semifinalist, Clemson. On the other side of the bracket, BYU is making its second appearance in three seasons and faces No. 2 Stanford, who hasn’t been to the College Cup since 2019.

Here is a look at the final four teams in the College Cup.

No. 1 FSU (20-0-1)

The Florida State Seminoles defeated the Morehead State Eagles 5-0 on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023.

How they reached the College Cup: Defeated Morehead State (5-0), Texas A&M (1-0), Texas (5-0) and Pitt (3-0).

Offense: 3.24 goals per game (1st), 3.48 assists per game (1st), 9.95 points per game (1st), 18.14 shots per game (13th), 8.90 shots on goal per game (7th), .491 shot accuracy (90th).

Defense:  .619 goals-against average (T-17th), 1.90 saves per game (333rd), .755 save percentage (186th), .619 shutout percentage (5th).

Top goalkeeper: Cristina Roque – 21 games played, 21 games started, 1890 minutes played, 13 goals allowed, .62 goals against average, 39 saves, .750 save percentage, 20-0-1 record.

Analysis:

FSU enters its fourth straight College Cup as the heavy favorite. The No. 1 overall seed in the tournament has not sufficed a goal in postseason play since the ACC Championship nearly a month ago.

The Seminoles pack the strongest offense in the national right now, led off by Onyi Echegini, who leads the Seminoles in goals, points shots and shots on goal. She’s been constantly followed on offense by freshman Jordynn Dudley, who has accumulated 12 goals and eight assists in her first college season.
