Mrs. Mary Haynie Longshore, age 90, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2023, at her residence.
Mrs. Longshore was born in Rockmart on October 20, 1933, daughter of the late John Haynie and Viola “Ola” Wheeler Haynie.
She had lived in Rockmart for a number of years before moving to College Park, GA, then on to Riverdale, GA. In 1989, Mrs. Longshore returned to Rockmart. She was a member of the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church of Marietta, GA, and had been attending Morning View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Longshore worked for a number of years with Hutcheson and Hutcheson Insurance Agency as a bookkeeper.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Longshore was preceded in death by her husband of 69 ½ years, Henry Elton Longshore, who passed away on December 23, 2018. A sister, Peggy McGraw, brother, Virgil Haynie, and a nephew, David Alan McGraw, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Longshore is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Tony McGraw; special family, Father Steve Dalber, Maria Dalber, Johanna Dalber, John Dalber, Athena Kortesis, and YaYa.
Funeral services for Mrs. Longshore will be Wednesday afternoon, December 6, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with Father Steve Dalber in charge of graveside rites.
Mrs. Longshore’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.
Pallbearers will include Benjamin Ozment, Scott Hensley, David Howard, Michael Longshore, Clint Lumpkin, and Tommy O’Neal. Honorary pallbearers will include Dewey Jaynes, Ashley Ozment, Amelia Hensley, Rodney Hutcheson, Clint Hutcheson, Angie Sadler, and Brodee Hutcheson.
