Maryland women’s soccer ushered in its newest group of players during last week’s National Signing Day, announcing nine additions to the program.Â
Coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer’s third recruiting class currently ranks 19th in the nation, according to TopDrawer Soccer. Her 2022 class, which included freshman standout Kennedy Bell, ranked 11th nationally and was the Big Ten’s No. 1 class, according to TopDrawer Soccer.
“We believe we have found the right group of women to help, not only continue to grow our culture, but raise the level on the field to get the University of Maryland back where it belongs among the leaders of college soccer,” Nemzer said in a release.
Here are some players to know from the Terps’ 2024 class.
Gemma Davitian, Forward, Walt Whitman High School, Bethesda, Maryland
The forward is ranked by TopDrawer Soccer as the No. 58 prospect in the nation, the highest ranking in Nemzer’s 2024 class. She was a Washington Post All-Met First Team and Maryland All-State First team selection in 2022.

Kennadie Marchand, Goalkeeper, Buford High School, Buford, Georgia
Nemzer called Marchand “one of the most complete goalkeepers in the country.” The coach recognized Marchand’s elite tools from the beginning of her evaluation process and believes the No. 6 goalie in the nation can become one of the best in the country with time.Â
Marchand plays for the United Futbol Academy. She was immediately drawn to Maryland after making her way to campus and meeting the team and coaches, she said.
Ellie Egeland, Midfield, Adlai E. Stevenson High School, Long Grove, Illinois
Egeland is ranked as the No. 191 player nationally and the No. 6 player in the midwest by TopDrawer Soccer. She was varsity captain at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in her senior season and was named the 2023 North Suburban Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
