Atlanta Shooting Kills Marietta Teacher: Report

ATLANTA — A Marietta school teacher died around 3 a.m. Sunday in a Peachtree Street shooting, according to a media report.

Atlanta Police said a 25-year-old person was shot multiple times and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The person died of their injuries.

Atlanta News First identified the person as Jason Ogbomoh, a Marietta Middle computer programming and coding teacher.

School Principal Diona Brown told the outlet Ogbomoh’s death has been tough.

“Mr. Ogbomoh, or ‘Mr. O,’ as he was affectionately known to the students, was just an incredible man,” Brown told the outlet.

The APD’s Homicide Unit is investigating the fatal shooting.
