Law professor discusses Georgia law that could remove district attorneys from office – WABE

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently requested that the election inference trial for former President Donald Trump and his 18 allies be scheduled as early as October 2023.

But before the case even reaches a courtroom, a new Republican-backed law could remove Willis—not just from the case—but from her job.

On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Clark Cunningham, a professor of law and the W. Lee Burge Chair in Law & Ethics at Georgia State University, talked with show host Rose Scott about Senate Bill 92 and how it could be used to remove Willis and several other District Attorneys from office.
