1. Officials from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office have made arrests surrounding individuals who are said to be part of illegal contraband being smuggled into the DeKalb County jail. Amongst some of the items were eyeglasses, marijuana, and Versace glasses. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
2. Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, is the newest federal holiday in the United States. Many celebrations are and have been going on through this weekend, celebrating the holiday. June 19 is the official day of the holiday. Many people may not know the history surrounding the holiday. Don’t fret though!
