Swan Space, a lifestyle, apparel and accessories boutique, is the latest addition to join the collection of retailers and restaurants at The Works, Selig Enterprises’ 80-acre adaptive reuse development in Atlanta’s Upper Westside. Set to open to the public later this summer, Swan Space is the newest concept from artist and entrepreneur, Anahata Joy, and her first store in Atlanta.

Located in the Makers Building next to BRASH Coffee Roasters, the 3,000-square-foot Swan Space will offer women’s apparel; artisanal studio-made jewelry; a unique beauty and apothecary selection, including a perfume bar featuring Joy’s own products; and home decor and art. Joy’s background in imports allows her to source eclectic finds, like pottery from the Sahara Desert or jewelry from Tuscany.
“My vision for Swan Space comes from the idea that one’s well-being should be celebrated and uplifted through personal style,” said Joy in a statement. “The name and concept is all about the beauty of transformation, and I’m excited to bring this unique shopping experience to the Upper Westside. I’ve called Atlanta home for six years now, and I’m excited to introduce a new locally owned retail offering – something the city needs more of as it continues to grow. I believe Swan Space will match the dynamic energy of Atlanta’s art scene and serve as a place to find beauty in transcendence and individuality.”
Joy has been in the retail industry for 20 years, and moved to the Atlanta area because of her interest in the burgeoning small business scene. She also owns Jupiter Row in Ashland, Oregon, and a wholesale business, which she runs out of the AmericasMart Atlanta. She chose The Works as the location for her first Atlanta store because of its commitment to being a good partner to small businesses, and she felt the communal vibe of the development was a good fit for Swan Space.
