Frontline Response Warming Center will be open 24 hours a day through April 1 while also functioning as a county intake center and day service center at the Frontline Response headquarters at 2585 Gresham Road in southeast Atlanta.
The services offered at the group’s headquarters, through April 1, include:
- A safe, clean environment for men, women, and families.
- Armed security provided overnight as well as Frontline staff serving as resident assistants.
- Individually assigned sleeping beds and cots with clean bedding and secure storage for personal items.
- Hot meals upon arrival. Breakfast, lunch, and hot dinner also will be provided.
- Entry into countywide service database.
- Free cellphone and health insurance sign up.
- Mobile showers.
- Employment and housing support.
- Food pantry registration.
- Group therapy.
- Jazz and art painting session
- Game night.
- Dinner and a movie night.
- Clothing as available.
- Medical and wellness appointments.
- Identification and birth certificate assistance.
- Transportation to facility and to verified appointments as available and at normal warming center pick up times.
Frontline officials added that no alcohol, weapons, smoking, or sharing of prescription drugs are allowed, and that all prohibited items and tobacco products will be turned over to the staff for appropriate storage during the guest’s stay.
Beginning in 2024, DeKalb County and city of Decatur entered into an agreement with Frontline Response to offer the first full-service warming center in the county. According to Frontline Response’s website, the facility is also available whenever the county activates its warming centers. Frontline Response will also transport people in need to the shelter.
