On City Lights’ series “Speaking of Music,” local musicians share work and stories in their own voices. In today’s segment, we feature guitarist, singer and songwriter Matthew Pendrick, who goes by the moniker Slow Parade.
“People often refer to Slow Parade’s music as 21st-century American vernacular,” Pendrick said, “but I just try to keep my ears wide open and let the songs tell me how they should sound.”

“I think that there’s inspiration everywhere if you know where to look,” reflected Pendrick.
Slow Parade’s third album release party will be celebrated on Friday at The Earl.
