Forest Park Enters Into Agreement With Georgia Power For ONE Light Initiative | News

The enhancements not only focus on safety but also contribute to the city’s neighborhood sustainability goals by reducing the frequency of replacements and overall maintenance costs.


”When you begin to think about the importance of public safety and the significant impact it has on maintaining a high quality of life, streetlights are often taken for granted even though they play such a pivotal role in our everyday lives,” said Butler. “This governing body remains committed to leaving no stone unturned when it comes to the safety and well-being of our residents, businesses and constituents. We are currently in the midst of a new day here in the City of Forest Park, and strategic platforms like ONE Light only enhance the tremendous progress that is already being made throughout our communities.”


As part of this initiative, Georgia Power has identified specific areas around city-owned buildings, recreation areas and properties that require lighting installation and upgrades to address safety concerns and reduce outages, which include the following locations:


— Forest Park City Hall (two additional light fixtures).

— Forest Park Police Department Headquarters (upgrades to 10 fixtures)

— Leonard Hartsfield Sr. Community Center (upgrades to three fixtures).

— Forest Park Recreation Center (upgrades to eight…
