Highway dedicated in memory of Minnie Melton Saxton | News

JONESBORO — A portion of Ga. Highway 54 in Clayton County have been dedicated to Minnie Melton Saxton, who served as principal of the first Rosenwald School and the Jonesboro Colored High School during the 1930s and 1940s.

The dedication, sponsored by Sen. Gail Davenport, was held Sunday, July 30, at the Jonesboro City Center, and hosted by Mayor Donya L. Sartor and the city of Jonesboro.
