Last month, a 54-foot truck made its way to Atlanta’s Woodruff Park with the makings of something mesmerizing – a new light and sound art installation called Prismatica. Consisting of 25 pivoting prisms, each over six feet tall, the interactive display illuminates the park with colors that shift with natural light and viewer perspective.
At night, projectors and music add another layer to the experience, which is free and on view through March 17. Created by the artistic minds at Toronto’s Raw Design firm, the installation has been touring the world for a decade.
Pierre-Alexandre Le Lay, the project lead for Prismatica, spoke with “City Lights” managing producer Kim Drobes to discuss how this enchanting spectacle came to be.
