Phil Miller to give State of County address | Douglasville Sentinel

This will be Miller’s first speech since taking the seat March 2023.

He was appointed by Gov. Brian Kemp for the position after former chair Romona Jackson Jones was suspended following a two-count felony indictment on bid-rigging and making false statements to law enforcement charges.

Last year, vice-chair and District 3 Commissioner Tarenia Carthan delivered the State of the County address.

According to the county’s communication department, Miller will deliver remarks about the county’s progress and share an inspiring vision for moving Douglas County forward.

The “Inside Douglas County” community engagement fair is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at the Douglasville Conference Center. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with department representatives, explore county programs and services and more. The event is free and open to the public.
