ASO Makes Concerts Accessible to All  — Encore Atlanta

by Fulton Watch News Feed

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is doing its part to bring music to all. The organization has launched Amplify, a new community access initiative where community members who receive public assistance from the State of Georgia are eligible for free tickets to select concerts.

“We constantly endeavor to find ways to break down barriers and invite the entire Atlanta community to experience the powerful music-making of the ASO,” said Jennifer Barlament, ASO’s executive director. “Music is a gift meant to be shared. This program will allow us to share our music with even more people, made possible through the generous support of our donors.”

Those eligible can sign up for the program through local social workers, government institutions, and community partners, and will receive up to four free tickets per concert for select ASO classical and family performances throughout the season. Once enrolled, members of the program can log into their accounts to redeem their tickets the week of a performance.

“We have a number of programs that aim to lower the barrier to entry for audiences like students and veterans, so that more people can access our concerts,” said Erin Jones, ASO’s director of sales and audience development. “This program is a great one to add to the mix, and we are looking forward to working with a prestigious list of local partner organizations.”

This outstanding program is made possible through a generous grant from the Lettie Pate Evans Foundation, which is part of the family of foundations, including the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation.
