Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is in Washington, D.C., to attend the U.S. Conference of Mayors Winter Meeting, where he is discussing issues that affect every city in the country.
Dickens said he is conferring with other mayors on what solutions have worked for them and what recommendations he can share from Atlanta’s successes.
He said issues at the forefront include homelessness, affordable housing, transportation, crime and sustainability.
“We were the third highest drop in violent crime across the nation so people are asking me questions about ‘hey, how did you do that, how did your crime go down, what things did you put in place?’” said Mayor Dickens.
The conference was attended by more than 250 mayors from across the nation and several White House Cabinet officials.
