MILTON, Ga. — Police arrested a 39-year-old Cumming man Jan. 11 after they stopped him for speeding and improperly passing a vehicle on New Providence Road.
Police saw the driver approaching Carney Road, following a vehicle closely and speeding past the posted 45-mph speed limit, then crossing double yellow lines to improperly pass the vehicle in front of him, according to the incident report.
When police conducted a traffic stop, the driver told police he was running late while taking his 8-year-old son to school.
Police placed the driver under arrest and charged him with driving too fast for conditions, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, passing on hillcrest and reckless driving. Police transported the driver to the North Fulton County Jail in Alpharetta.
