Lawrenceville Woman Charged With Breaking Into Church And Attacking Man And Police | Local

The woman, later identified as 28-year-old Kail Mikeal Schemmel, entered the Dayspring Assembly of God at 3330 Callier Springs Road around 3:30 Sunday afternoon with two dogs. She burst into the assembly accusing them of killing dogs and assaulted a man who just recently started attending the church.

“They were having a service when (Schemmel) suddenly burst into the sanctuary screaming and threw her two dogs onto the pulpit during the sermon. (The victim) stated that (Schemmel) began screaming random things and about how they apparently kill dogs…(Schemmel) approached him and struck him in the face causing the laceration and stating that she was going to ‘slit his throat’ and ‘cut his balls off,'” the report stated.

She left the church and parishioners locked the doors. Police arrived to find Schemmel outside banging on the doors and jumping up and down on the porch of the church.

When an officer was attempting to speak with the man, who had a cut on his left cheek, Schemmel kept screaming at both of them. She yelled “I’m going to kill him” at the victim and refused to identify herself telling police that she didn’t have a name and “you already know who I am.” She also screamed “Jesus isn’t real” at the church and then began telling police that she was going to kill them as well.

Schemmel’s four children — ages 10 through 5 — and girlfriend were also at the church during that time. Fighting with officers during her arrest she told the children that the police were “going to sacrifice her” and would shoot her.
