ATLANTA — Residents across north Metro Atlanta began casting their ballots Oct. 16, the first day of advanced voting for municipal general elections.
North Fulton cities Milton, Johns Creek and Roswell have municipal elections. Alpharetta canceled its municipal election when no candidates filed to challenge incumbents, and Sandy Springs has no races this year.
Milton, running its local election for the first time, has its advanced voting location at Milton City Hall. Like other cities across the state, advanced voting ends Nov. 3. But, the times differ, and early voting will not be offered on Sundays.
Advanced voting times for Milton:
- Oct. 16: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Oct.17-18: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Oct. 19-21: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Oct. 23-28: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Oct. 30-31: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Nov. 1-3: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Municipal elections in Johns Creek and Roswell, conducted by Fulton County, will follow the same schedule.
Voters in Fulton County, with the exception of Milton and Palmetto residents, can cast their ballots at any of the county’s 14 early voting locations. But, Johns Creek has a location at the Robert F. Fulton Ocee Library on Abbotts Bridge Road.
Roswell has two locations, one at the Roswell Library on Norcross Street and another at the East Roswell Library on Holcomb Bridge Road.
Advanced voting times for Johns Creek and Roswell:
- Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 21 & Oct. 28: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 22 & Oct. 29: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Advanced voting in DeKalb County also begins Oct. 16 and ends Nov. 3. Dunwoody voters can cast their ballots at any of the 13 early voting locations in DeKalb County, but the closest may be the Dunwoody Library on Chamblee Dunwoody Road.
Advanced voting times for Dunwoody:
- Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 21 & Oct. 28: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 22 & Oct. 29: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
