Woman’s credit accounts raided for nearly $87,700

MILTON, Ga. — A Milton woman reported to police Nov. 7 that someone had racked up nearly $87,700 in charges to several of her opened credit accounts.

The woman told police she started receiving phone calls from Bank of America, Capital One, Discover, American Express, Truist and Apple stating that she owed money to each of the companies for credit card bills. 

The woman said she had opened the accounts, but that the charges were miscellaneous. The woman confirmed with police she used her Social Security number online to apply for a credit card but still has physical possession of all her cards.
