Gardening at the Library
Every third Saturday of the month join Chaves County Extension Service for the program Gardening at the Library. On Feb. 17 at 10 a.m., the theme is “Landscape Irrigation.” It takes place at the Roswell Public Library, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. For more information, call 575-622-3210.
HSSNM Scholarships
The Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico is offering six scholarships in the amount of $1,250 each. The scholarships are funded by the Linda Hays Trust. The scholarships are for high school students: Humanities and Art, STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics), Character and for all college students: Continuing Education. Desk & Derrick Club meeting
The Roswell Desk & Derrick Club will hold it’s monthly meeting on Feb. 13, at noon at the Roswell Elks Lodge. This month’s guest speaker is Michael Espiritu, president and CEO of the Roswell-Chaves County Economic Development Corporation, presenting some exciting new things happening in Roswell. Desk & Derrick is open to anyone in the oil, gas and allied industries or others interested in the energy business. Blood drives
Vitalant, No. 3 Grand Avenue Plaza, has a couple of blood drives planned for February: On Feb. 15 from 1 to 5 p.m., the Bloodmobile will be at the Roswell Public Health Office. On Feb. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the blood drive will be at the Vitalant office. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 575-625-9743.
