Artesia Bulldogs vs. Roswell Coyotes

Last Saturday, Artesia faced Cobre in a battle between two of the state’s top teams. Artesia came out on top against Cobre by a score of 7-4.

The team relied heavily on Perseis Aguilar, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikenzi Carlo, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Roswell had to settle for a 9-8 defeat against Lovington on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Roswell in their matchups with Lovington: they’ve now lost four in a row.

Alayna Tarin was cooking despite her team’s loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Bella Ornelas, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Artesia has been performing well recently as they’ve won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Roswell, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
