Body of missing Roswell man found in field

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – The body of 34-year-old Matthew Villarreal was found March 4, in a field south of Roswell. Villarreal had been missing and was last seen on February 22.

Police say Villarreal was last seen leaving his mothers home on the 900 block of North Beech St. He had not responded to multiple attempts by his mother and girlfriend to get in contact with him and Roswell Police had asked the public for help locating the missing man.

Villarreal’s body was found in a field south of Roswell. The Chaves County Sheriff’s Office will be handling the investigation. No other details are known.
