Brownouts, winds lead to crashes across Chaves County | Local News

Fierce winds and brownout conditions caused a series of vehicle crashes around Chaves County on Tuesday, resulting in the death of at least one person.

Winds of between 30 to 40 miles per hour, and gusts of up to 65 miles per hour, made driving treacherous and caused officials to beg motorists to stay off the roads.
