On Tuesday, three teams played four games, with Goddard splitting the visiting Clovis Wildcats, Roswell baseball falling to the visiting Eldorado Golden Eagles and Lovington getting past the Lady Coyotes softball.

The Coyotes come into this game after a tough loss against the visiting Santa Teresa, and Roswell lost to the Desert Warriors 16-13 in eight innings. Eldorado is coming in with a win over the Albuquerque Bulldogs 10-4. In the first game, the Coyotes struggled to hit the ball against Eldorado pitcher Jace Sanchez-Reynolds, who pitched seven innings and five strikeouts. Besides senior Eli Lynn with two, no Coyotes got a hit in the first game.

In the second game, the Coyotes hit much better, but the Golden Eagles got the jump on their host in the second inning, 7-0. The Roswell boys began to come back in the game slowly, winning the fourth and fifth innings in a combined 5-0 run, but Eldorado matched the run in the sixth and seventh to end the game 16-8. Roswell’s Eli Lynn led the team in RBIs with three, with seniors Jackson McDonal, Luke Bogle and junior Noah Lynn with one each. Boggle also hit one home run against Eldorado. Seniors Julian Amador and Isaac Loya had two runs each.

Senior Quinn Teupell led the game with six RBIs for the Eldorado team, followed by Sanchez-Reynolds with three. Both players hit one home run each. Junior Cooper Fairhurst led Eldorado in runs with three. With this loss, the Roswell Coyotes stand at 7-6 for the season. Today, the Coyotes start their road stint against Lovington, then off to Artesia next Tuesday.
