The Goddard High School varsity girls golf team took first place in the Roswell Invitational Tournament last Tuesday, where the Lady Rockets beat Carlsbad by 30 strokes at 362 at the New Mexico Military Institute Golf Course. Clovis and Hobbs tied for third with 417.
The Lady Rockets are scheduled for two tournaments next week. On Monday, Goddard is scheduled to participate in a two-day event in Ruidoso. The Leroy Gooch Tournament at the Alto Lakes Golf Course will also feature the Goddard boys team and is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. On Thursday, the Goddard teams will join the NMMI boys and the Roswell boys and girls for the Coyote Classic. The one-day event is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. at the Nancy Lopez Golf Course at Spring River.
