Mable Lard
Mable Lard, of Roswell, NM, passed peacefully at the age of 93 on March 25, 2024.
Ms. Lard was born on September 2, 1930, in Caddo County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel Harman. At the age of three, Mable moved to New Mexico with her family. She met the love of her life, Floyd Aaron Lard, in Hagerman, New Mexico. They were married on August 23, 1947 in Hagerman.
Mable was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, on June 22, 1991; father, Clarence Harman; mother, Ethel Harman; sisters, Annabelle Lucas, Bertha Allen, Juanita Estes, Kathleen Childs, Lucille Skipper and Vivian Harman; brothers, Clarence Harman Jr. and Jimmy Harman.
Surviving Mable are her son, Floyd D. Lard and wife Marsha of Roswell; sisters, Reba Pearson and Shirley Murray; brother, Charlie Harman; granddaughters, Rebecca D. Sakelaris and John of Raton, N.M.; Casey Peralta and husband Sam of San Tan Valley, AZ.; Cory Cogdill, and wife April of Roswell; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Mable lived in Roswell for 53 years, retiring in 1992 from Bray-Moore Women’s Fashions as a beauty consultant.
A graveside family memorial will be held at a later date.
