New Mexico State Police seize drugs and firearms, arrest felons in Roswell operation

CHAVES COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officers arrested 24 people in a Chaves County warrant round-up operation dubbed “Operation Alien Town Takedown.” In just one week, officers took felons, drugs, and firearms off the streets of Roswell.

From Monday, Jan. 15, through Friday, Jan. 19, NMSP’s Crime Suppression Bureau worked with the Investigations Bureau and the District 3 Uniforn Bureau to accomplish the following:

  • 23 felony warrant arrests
  • 1 misdemeanor warrant arrest
  • 5 firearms seized
  • 90.62 pounds of marijuana seized
  • 34.8 grams of cocaine seized
  • 15 fentanyl pills seized
  • 9.6 grams of methamphetamine seized
