Roswell Coyotes vs. Santa Teresa Desert Warriors

by Fulton Watch News Feed

The Roswell Coyotes will stay at home for another game and welcome the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Roswell’s win against Gadsden wasn’t quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came away the winners. Roswell came out on top in a nail-biter against Gadsden on Tuesday and snuck past 3-1.

Jacob Palomino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: he surrendered one run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

Meanwhile, everything went Santa Teresa’s way against Cathedral on Friday as Santa Teresa made off with a 9-3 victory. That looming 9-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Santa Teresa yet this season.

Gabriel Heredia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Heredia has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn’t pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Heredia was also solid in the batter’s box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ezekiel Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Ardon Luna was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Roswell’s win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs per game. As for Santa Teresa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7-1.

Roswell couldn’t quite finish off Santa Teresa in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 and fell 5-3. Will Roswell have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball…
