On Monday, the Roswell High School (RHS) varsity boys’ basketball team failed to secure the district championship against the Clovis Wildcats, with a final score of 55-44 at the Hobbs High School’s Tasker Arena.
The Coyotes were coming into this game after a nine-point victory over the 18-8 Clovis Wildcats, who were leading District 4-5A. This time, the Wildcats took care of business against the Coyotes. The Wildcats outpaced the Roswell boys offensively, outscoring the Coyotes in all four quarters. The Coyotes hung around in the first half, thanks to their defense forcing turnovers and Steven McCaskill’s 11 points to keep them within two points toward the third quarter.
