GAMLS: Median Atlanta sales price rises 3.3% year over year

The median sales price of an Atlanta home hit $382,250 in December, up 3.3% year over year but down 3.2% month over month. The pace of sales, meanwhile, continued to slow.   

By unit, home sales fell 0.5% month over month and 11.2% year over year to 3,846 properties, Georgia MLS reported, citing its 12-county Housing Market Snapshot. By dollar volume, sales came in at $1.82 billion, down 0.7% from November and down 3.8% from December 2022.      

New listings plunged 27.5% month over month and dipped 1.8% year over year to 4,271. Active listings, meanwhile, were down 8.8% on a monthly basis and down 0.5% on a yearly one, at 11,393.             

Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
