COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A Columbus child was granted the wish of a lifetime, as Make-A-Wish Georgia surprised her with an all-expenses paid, family vacation to “The Most Magical Place On Earth.”
Bethel Price,7, is the first of 14 children in Columbus to get her wish granted with the help of the Shelby & Wanda Amos Foundation. Nearly a year in the making, the non-profit organization surprised Bethel just days before her 8th birthday.
To grant a wish for a child, and see Bethel’s smile… it’s everything. You can’t put a price on that.

Bethel was born with a congenital heart defect. She’s had a life in-and-out of children’s hospitals. Loved ones describe her as a fighter. Her parents credit the community for helping to carry them through the difficult times. And now, their family has grown to include Make-A-Wish Georgia.
It really feels like an abundant gift. I just remember telling Gill, ‘this is lavish to be able to go on a family vacation like this.’ So we’re just really grateful and humbled that they [Make-A-Wish Georgia] care for families like ours.

Bethel was met at Christ Community Church with applause as friends, Make-A-Wish Georgia representatives and the Miracle Riders cheered her upon her arrival. Wanda Amos and her late husband, Shelby, sponsored Bethel’s wish. Bethel is the first of many Columbus children getting their wish granted.

I knew what you were thinking when you came in here. We’re taking all 14.’ I’m like, ‘well, yeah, that’s kind of what I wanted to do.’ So that’s what we did.
