This year’s Roswell Roots Black History Festival features original works which explore the intricacies and intimacies of Black life in America – “Grabbing the Hammer Lane,” and “Black in the Box.”
In this interview, David Proctor and Marlon Burnley, the creators and performers of the two solo theater pieces, joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes, along with Corinne Sutherlin — the cultural arts supervisor for the Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department — to talk more about the festival.
“Grabbing the Hammer Lane” will be on stage at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center on Jan. 28 as part of the Roswell Roots Black History Festival. “Black in the Box” will also take place there as part of the festival with performances on Feb. 16-17. More information is available here.
