ATLANTA — Beer lovers around Atlanta have been sounding off about their favorite local breweries, and the consensus is…there’s no consensus! The responses run the gamut from large outfits like Sweetwater to smaller artisan beer-makers.
But a few breweries did seem to bubble up as clear reader favorites.
At the top of the list is Reformation Brewery, which has multiple taproom locations that readers raved about.
“No better vibe than sitting outside under the big tree drinking one of their tasty brews,” wrote one Woodstock reader.
Courtney of Woodstock highlighted Reformation’s “variety of drink options, awesome staff and events, great outdoor area.” Bryan Semkuley of Roswell praised “the best overall range and quality of beer and beverages. Fantastic staff and outdoor environments!!”
Another reader favorite is the aptly named Variant Brewing in Roswell. “Variant is hands down the best brewery I’ve ever been to,” gushed Pat Caffrey. “They have a great selection of beers, and always seem to come up with new brews that are different, but are all excellent.” Michele from Roswell simply said Variant has the “best tasting beer” and a “great environment.”
Readers also showered love on smaller operations like Drowned Valley Brewing in Cartersville. “They are a micro-brewery that is constantly experimenting with new brews while keeping crowd favorites in the normal rotations,” wrote Anthony Tadajewski of Cartersville. “The staff is beyond friendly and, for me, it’s my ‘Cheers’ location where everybody knows my name (and of course I know theirs!)”
The fact that they’re dog friendly he said, and “have their own brew dog (love Easton!!!) just makes DVB even more inviting,” Tadajewski added.
Amanda Willard called Drowned Valley the “most FRIENDLY staff and BEST tasting beer!!”
