Douglasville officer in critical condition after car crash | Douglasville Sentinel

Few details of the crash were released as the accident is still under investigation, according to a GSP email to the Sentinel on Monday afternoon.

Douglasville Police hasn’t released any information on the incident.

GSP said the crash with injuries occurred on Highway 61 near Highway 166 as the officer was traveling southbound in his marked patrol vehicle.

According to the GSP, the vehicle was ‘negotiating a curve and left the west side’ of the roadway.

After leaving the roadway, the car struck a power pole with its front end.

The officer was extracted from the vehicle and transported to Grady, according to the GSP.
