A 33-year-old Union City man has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison following a large-scale methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking scheme.

Quintilis Davenport, a 33-year-old man from Union City, Georgia, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for his role in a large-scale methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking scheme in and around the Atlanta area.

In August of 2022, Davenport intended to sell a kilogram of methamphetamine and 1,000 fentanyl pills to an undercover DEA agent. When law enforcement attempted to arrest him, he fled and tossed a firearm into a nearby pond. After eventually taking him into custody, investigators searched his apartment and recovered fourteen kilograms of methamphetamine, 1,500 fentanyl pills, nearly half a kilogram of fentanyl powder, and three firearms from his location.

U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan stated “This sentence is a reflection of the seriousness of this conduct and the necessity to deter others from engaging in such dangerous drug trafficking activities. We are proud to work alongside our law enforcement partners to keep our community safer, especially from life-threatening narcotics like fentanyl.” Robert J. Murphy, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Division, added “This violent drug trafficker can no longer distribute dangerous drugs, such as methamphetamine and fentanyl, as he now faces the consequences for his poor choices.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Atlanta warns parents and children about the dangers of drugs and encourages them to visit the following websites: www.justthinktwice.gov; www.operationprevention.com/; www.dea.gov/onepill.
