New stakes
A new stake has been created from the Amarillo Texas Stake. The Amarillo Texas East Stake, which consists of the Childress, Dumas, Estacado (Spanish) and Perryton branches and the Bishop Hills, Borger, Pampa and Tascosa wards, was created by Elder Clark G. Gilbert, General Authority Seventy, and Elder B. Corey Cuvelier, an Area Seventy.
AMARILLO TEXAS EAST STAKE: (Aug. 13, 2023) President — Christopher Gil Moncivais, 43, Southwest General Contractors owner and vice president; wife, Torry Elizabeth Mann Moncivais. Counselors — Bryan Jacob Guymon, 43, attorney; wife, Janelle Ann Henke Guymon. Mark Hamilton Garnett, 54, physician; wife, Karen Geddes Garnett.
A new stake has been created from the Johannesburg South Africa and Soweto South Africa stakes. The Johannesburg South Africa South Stake, which consists of the Ennerdale and Orange Farm branches and the Florida 1st, Florida 2nd, Randburg, Ridgeway and Sebokeng wards, was created by Elder Edward Dube, General Authority Seventy, and Elder Glenn M. Holmes, an Area Seventy.
JOHANNESBURG SOUTH AFRICA SOUTH STAKE: (Jan. 29, 2023) President — Sandile Makasi, 39, Church area communication director; wife, Nicole Moyo Makasi. The Mazatenango Guatemala Las Flores Stake, which consists of the Chicacao Branch and the El Compromiso, Las Flores, Mazatenango Oriente, Samayac, San Antonio Suchitepequez and San Bernardino wards, was created by Elder Patricio M. Giuffra, General Authority Seventy, and Elder José Hernández, an Area Seventy.
