Locals help send off soldiers | Arts & Community

On Saturday morning, residents gathered along Jefferson Street to honor Battalion 2/121 on their deployment to Texas. Battalion 2/121 was escorted through downtown Newnan before getting on the interstate and heading to the airports. Two days earlier, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2667, hosted a going away ceremony at the Coweta County Fairgrounds to give the soldiers time with their loved ones before their departure.
